Travel and accommodation subsidies
Apprentices and trainees (not SATs), who travel at least 100km (return trip) to attend training at the closest training organisation delivering the qualification they are undertaking, may be eligible for travel and accommodation subsidies from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training.
Apprentices and trainees not attending their closest training organisation should contact the Fair Work Ombudsman to find out if their employer is required to contribute to the costs associated with attending off-the-job training.
Travel and accommodation assistance for school-based apprentices and trainees (SATs) may be available from the student’s school. Contact the school for further information.
Contact a local Australian Apprenticeship Support Network provider or phone 13 38 73 to see what financial help may be available.
